Happy Birthday, Ms Ko!

Uh uh, it is not me! People call me Mrs. Lim now. Happy Birthday to my younger sister, SY. I bought her a tiny cake from Bakerzinn yesterday cos she likes the cakes there.

When the waitress asked me how many candles I need, my mind went momentarily blank. Not that I forgot her age cos I know that she is 2 years younger than me. I forgot my own age. Can you believe it?

Yup, I remember people's age as references to mine. I do not remember how old my elder sis is or how old my cousin's age is or how old RH's age is even. Cos after you start memorizing their age, it is the next year and they are a year older now. How can you keep up with that? So I memorize how many years older or younger than me they are. So for example, RH is 5 years older than me, SY is 2 years younger and my cousin 5 years older than me.

WHO WOULD EXPECT ME TO FORGET MY OWN AGE? ?????

And then, later in the evening during dinner when we celebrated SY's birthday, I discovered the truth. Yeah, apparently everyone will forget their age as they grow older. Whether it is that their memory is not as good or whether they do not treat birthdays as special events anymore or whether they just do not wish to remind themselves that they are old. Whatever it is, people forget their own birthdays as they grow older. I need a new system for memorizing birthdays.

Seems like my cousin's method is pretty good! Memorize their birth year, this way, you will not forget their age. It does not change from year to year either. Thanks, FS, you saved my life.

HAPPY **TH BIRTHDAY, SY!

I delibrately put ** in case she does not want anyone to know her age. :-)

We celebrated SY's birthday at the new restaurant, Wild Rocket. Reason we chose the place despite the really uluh (deserted) place was because it had received so many good reviews. Unfortunately, the food was not that great. Yep! I was really disappointed.

Besides the minimum menu, the Laksa Linguine that I ordered did not for one bite tasted like Laksa......oh well, dat might just be the last time I eat there. By the way, you can't get a seat in the restaurant without reservations, so long to that too.
