Zooming by......

Babies grow so fast, you just can't seem to keep track of them. I try to take regular pictures of C but its quite impossible to take every new little expression he has or new skills he has picked up. Was sorting out his pictures the other day, C looks so different now from the day he was born.

And of course, I was sooo grossly overweight during my last trimester that I actually look like a pig. Oh well!

Its been so long...

Yeah, its been awhile since I blogged. I have been so busy recently........with C and with the new business of course. So what has happened since the last time I blogged? I had another run in with Mastitis, C had his 2nd immunization jab and he is 7.2 kg now, he is able to hold his head reasonably upright now and is becoming more and more aware of his surroundings. He has also found his thumb and fingers and will suck his thumb when he is sleepy.

Here is a picture of him now. We had dim sum brunch with mom yesterday.

zzzzzz

I finally slept a straight 6 hours and I feel so fresh this morning. Yes! It has been a long while since I manage to sleep so long at one go. The last time I tried it, I got Mastitis. It is hard to pump and it is hard to stop pumping. Oh why do women go through all this hardship to breastfeed their babies?

It seems so funny that I would be so grateful for 6 hours of sleep when I used to get really cranky on 8 hours. That was my pre-pregnancy days too. I had to have at least 9 hours of sleep before I actually felt more human than zombie. Hee hee.

Alas, this is my life now! Everything revolves around C. Love him to bits.

{Tummy Time}

C is able to hold his head up for quite a long while now when we put him on his tummy. Here is one of him with a hint of dimple on his left cheek. RH has been going crazy trying to take lots of pictures of C and even insisted that I take a picture of C while we were traveling in the car. When I refused, he threatened to stop driving and pull over until I take a pictuire of him. Hahaha! He says got to document all of C's life for his parents as they are not around to see C.

Back to Work

It sure has not been easy going back to work. I was scheduled to go back to work last Monday and so I did all my preparations on Sunday, left C at my cousin's place and reached my workplace at around 10 am. Not bad for the first day.

On tuesday, I took C to the immigration to collect his PR status. Yup, yup, C is a Singapore Permanent Resident like his parents. Anyways, it was such a long wait that I was afraid I brought too little milk out with me and was afraid that C was going to be hungry and start crying. Anyways, I ended up not working cos by the time we came back from the immigration and by the time I pumped and sterilized my pump, it was really late.

On Wed, I left for work and had to come back at noon because I was hit with a bout of fever. Yes, what happened was that the previous night, I tried not pumping at night because I was too sleepy at work in the morning. So, there was a 7 hour lapse between pumps which caused my breast to be realy engorged and I got Mastitis. How do I know the fever was caused by Mastitis? Cos my right breast was sore, had a lump of milk that did not go away and I do not have any cough or flu to go with my fever.

On thursday, I rested at home to try and get better.

On friday, I took the day off to clear the house and rested.........

So, the first week of work has me in the office for less that 8 hours.......but I am happy to report that through adjustments made to my pumping and feeding schedule, these two days has been quite ok for me. I still feel sleepy, either due to the rainy weather or just the bad air condition in the office but at least, I was able to work some.

I hope it gets better for me. I am slowly trying to extend the time in between feedings and cutting down on the number of pumps.

Pekkle

Sometimes I think that C looks like the Sanrio Character, Pekkle with his double chin and all. Here is a comparison. See what I mean?

Baptism

{Family Picture in Church}

{Baptised by Pastor Lilian, the pastor who married us}

On Saturday, C was baptised as an infant. Although he was the one being baptised, the ceremony is really more for the parents rather than the child himself. The parents were asked to make a promise: a promise to bring up the child in the ways of the Lord and to try their best to provide the child with a growing environment that would most likely bring him close to God.

It is quite a scary promise really cos firstly, you are making a promise to God. God does not forget promises and when you make a promise like dat, you can be sure that He will hold you to your promise. Secondly, it is scary because suddenly, you are responsible for C's spiritual life. I can't be the lazy person I was and now I have a disciplined and hardworking mummy for C's sake.

I know that I need to depend on the Lord even more now and I pray everyday for C and RH: for C to grow up in the ways of the Lord and for him to grow well and healthy and for RH to be the family's spiritual leader that God calls him to be. For myself, I just pray that God will keep me always close to Him and will always remind me when I stray or have other idols.

So, above are the pictures from the Baptism. Too bad I only have a few pictures because the photographer was not very good at taking pictures.
