Milan Photoshoot

I think I have just quit about writing on RH and my life story. Better to continue with everyday mundane stuff. My writing is not able to catch up with everyday events.

So, after I came back from my week long "vacation" in surabaya planning for my wedding (reason for quotation marks on vacation), I was so so so really bushed. Waking up everyday at 6 am in surabaya, the sun there really rises early, not that the sun actually eats worms. Coming home really late like 11 pm and running around making decisions about a million things and at the same time have to battle my FMIL. Hehehe.

Even after sby (Surabaya), I am not able to rest. One of my small group members got hitched. Congratulations Adrian. Yup, so happy but then the bad news is that he will be moving to England to be with his wife. Means, no more Bible Study with him. Nope, his wife is not ang moh, he is actually. He is originally German and his wife is a Singaporean studying in England, I think!

Then came my PS (wedding photoshoot). I had to wake up at 6 am again. This time to wash hair and be at studio by 8 am.

Some pictures below ffrom behind the scenes PS. Hehehe, RH also very vain, he had me take many pictures of him.

Me & MUA (make up artist) Fanny from Milan. I must truly sing her praises. She really listens and tries to give me what I asked for. Plus, she is really detailed. She took a long time with my left eye cos my eyes are not proportiona and she never gave up after several tries.

{Half done, a little more to go}

{First Indoor style done, 4 more to go}

{RH's turn!}

{Traditional costume. Look so chinese!}

{Taking a break......going for another style}

{Done! Mom is gonna kill me if she sees me in a veil before my wedding}

{Still got time to read some more....}

{Last hairstyle. There are ribbons in front but cannot see from photo. Have to wait for the actual ones to be done}

{RH's back}

{RH's Front......}

{Around the studio! Our stuff all spread out on the table. Hehehe!}

{Make up area!}

We went to 3 places for outdoor! Wanted four but alas, Sentosa has to be out. RH keeps telling me that we can still take pictures in Indonesia and its irritating me because the style of teh photographer is different. And there was no sun! Now, really worried that the photos will look grey!

Forgot to throw in a picture of my shoes. Cute hor! RH not very tall so I must wear flats. Bought this in JB (Johor Bahru) and added the ribbons myself. :P

Delimanjoo

Gonna do some promotion for the cake! Of course, it is because my mom recently bought the franchise for Singapore and they have OFFICIALLY opened on the 30th Nov. Yup, what is it?

Its actually a very healthy snack from Korea. Made of mostly egg, the cake is soft and moist. Most of byou have eaten the Pandan cake? Well, I can say that it is more moist and soft than a pandan cake. It is made bite-sized in the shape of a corn. Inside the cake a a dollop of custard. Sweet of course. It is suppose to be very popular in Korea but I would not know cos I have never been there but I shall take the words of my mom and sister. Surely, they would not lie to their own family member . To you, maybe but not to me.

Here is a picture of the cake.

Here is a picture of the machine. You can see it at my mom's counter. Its operation is quite interesting.

Another product of Delimanjoo, the magic pop. Its a keropok type of snack. Very crispy and it is very healthy as it is made of wheat rice and popped like popcorn, not fried like our normal keropok. Healthy alternatives for kids who loves keropok.

Magic Pop Machine. It makes a very very loud sound when it pops the cracker.

So, i just realised that I did not tell you where to get this thing. It is located in Singapore, of course. You can find it in Trengganu Street which is actually very near to Smith Street at Chinatown. So, if you can't find it, just follow the loud popping sound created by the Magic Pop. :)

And apparently, they have a website. Check out

for more information about Delimanjoo.

Starville Showroom Pictures

I wanted to post pictures of the Starville showroom the last time I posted but there was something wrong with the website so here it is.

We took some pictures of the showroom before it was demolished. Lucky we did because it helped us to remember certain details when we talk to ID (interior designers).

{Dining Room}

That is RH's father at the entrance to the kitchen. The corridor on the right leads to the bedroom. Of course, our apartment is a different layout than this.

{Bedroom 2}

This is the second bedroom. They converted it into a study. A weird study at that.

{Bedroom 3}

This is to be our guest bedroom. For my FFIL and FMIL when they come to visit us or whoever wants to come and visit us can stay here. Not very big like 5 star hotel but don't complain cos its free.

{Bedroom 3}

Clearer picture of the guest bedroom. Notice the windows, quite bright but RH and me both hate the bay window because it takes up space. Hate balconies too. Think that they are very unnecessary.

{Master Bathroom}

Master bathroom. Notice the large windows again? In this case, the effect is totally different. Why do they put such large windows in the bathroom? Do the developers assume that everyone is an exhibistionist nudist? This is ridiculous and gives us a headache on how to cover the windows. I prefer opaque films, easy maintenance. RH prefers blinds because he does feel secure about the films. He insistes that people are still able to see through. and what about the planters? No one in their right mind will have actual soil in their bathroom. It breeds mosquito, insects and the poor plants will die on contact with our soaps, no?

{Master Bedroom}

Ah, finally the master bedroom. They only gave us 4 door wardrobe. Can you believe that? It is not even enough to house my clothes. RH would have to use the guestroom wardrobe. Hahaha! We have decided we are gonna get the ID to build us more wardrobes.

I dunno why we took this picture but it just shows the entrance to the balcony from the master bedroom. Remember how I mentioned I hated balconies. another useless place.

{Living room}

This is a picture of the tiny living room. The floor are for this showroom is 1218 sqft and our actual apartment is 1238 sqft. I hope it does have a bigger living room cos my TV is 30 inch normal tv. HOW?

In laws

My FMIL (fututre mother in law) is here since yesterday. She came here to get a mandatory check up for the health insurance she is signing up with. She is already 57 years old and no health insurance. This is not good. It is due to the fact that my FFIL (your guessed it, future father in law) is a very traditional person and he feels that buying health or life insurance is just like cursing the person to fall sick or die. Of course, that is not true and so RH went seraching for health insurances for his mom.

Well, she came with RH's youngest sister. RH's parents love her the most among RH's siblings. So, means that I cannot offend RH's mom, dad and sister. Hehehe. Anyways, these few days are gonna be really really busy. Entertaining FMIL, helping out mom with Delimanjoo and stuff.

And I am down with flu. I hope that I can survive this weekend.

Continued

So where did I left off the last time? Oh yeah! We got engaged in June. Actually, we bought an apartment in April, before he proposed. I said "we" and not "he" bought an apartment because we knew that when we bought the apartment, it was meant to be for the both of us. Lucky for me, RH's Dad decided that Rh should pay for the apartment himself. I initially wanted to put down my name so I can help out in terms of CPF because that is actually one thing that I have more than RH.

He was a foreigner so he did not have CPF. Yeah, notice I said "was". He applied for Singapore PR in April after apparantly realized that he is going to be in Singapore for some time. Hehehe. He claims to have moved to Singapore for me. I do not believe him though.

Anyways, we searched high and low (or rather central and east) for our dream apartment. We knew that we are looking for a private freehold location. RH initially wanted to get a place in Upper Bukit Timah because he was renting Maplewoods at that time and because his friend has an apartment in that area and he absolutely loves the place. (plus, of course it is cheaper than central or say east side).

We decided eventually that we wanted to stay at the East Side (Hurray!) to be near my parents. Of course, that was absolutely good news for me. I have ALL MY LIFE lived in the East. Yeap, our first home was in Telok Kurau Lorong L and then we moved to Telok Kurau Jalan Baiduri which is a street away. So basically, I lived in Telok Kurau all my life.

We did see many many apartments, (at leat 20). New developments, old developments, through showrooms, through property agents. Until we came across Haig Court and fell in love with it. Spacious 3 bedroom with floor space of 1345 sqft. Much smaller than my current house but big in terms of modern apartment. Full facilities, good location (it is situated near not one but two very good schools, one of which I went to, hee hee) and all. Of course there had to be a catch! It was expensive and beyong poor RH's budget.

So, we went on with our search. You thought we bought Haig Court, didn't you? We looked and looked and finally found Starville. A new development proposedto be ready by Dec 2005, full facilities, 3 bedroom, plus bomb shelter, small than Haig Court (only 1238 sqft) but we can't ask for too much, near MRT station, blah blah blah. It was great. Price was within our budget as well.

We brought RH parents to view the place and brought our parents to view the place. Negotiated price with developer big boss and finally got the place at a low price. RH's parents liked another development though. That is Coastarina, at East Coast Road. Good Location and price plus it is a penthouse. However, the livable space was tremendously small and there are no facilities cept for a small pool. Thank goodness, we decided on Starville and so now, we are on to a brighter future. Hehehe.

{So here we are, like proud parents of our new home.}

{This is a model of our Condominium, YES, ours! :P Ours is the third block from the left. You can't see the swimming pool from this side but it is a 50m lap pool. }

{You can see the pool from here. This side is facing the PIE.}

The apartment is situated near Kembangan MRT, only 10 mins walk. 20 mins walk to my current house. Near RH's in laws aka my parents. From this view, our apartment is third from the right.

Start of Renovation & Wedding Blog

Finally decided to start a Renovation & Wedding blog. Nope, I did not just get engaged nor did I just buy a property. Actually, my Fiance bought an apartment in April and I got engaged in June.

The thing is, it just occurred to me to do up a blog about it. Hee Hee! Yup, gonna be hardworking and try to jot down my thoughts and such although I think that knowing how lazy I really am, it would probably just be a photo blog with lots of pictures.

Hmm, I think I really need to update readers about what has happened till now.

So here goes! Let's start at the very beginning. How did I meet my fiance, RH?

Well, it began when I went back to Surabaya last year for Chinese New Year! Surabaya is the second largest city besides Jakarta if you don't know (Should read up on more grography, people). Oh ya, I did mention I was Indonesian, right?

Anyways, my family sometimes goes back to Indonesia to celebrate CNY because my grandfather (Dad's side) is just this really Traditional guy that has to have everyone together for CNY. My family, being brought up in a traditional way (thanks to my grandfather, dad's side of course) is very obedient to the patriach of the family which happens to be (yeah you are right), my grandfather (dad's side, obviously).

It is on the first day of CNY that my older sister SB and I were invited to lunch by an old friend and her husband. She says that she wanted to have lunch with us and a friend. We saw right through it. It could only be a matchmaking session which is quite common in Indonesian Chinese Community. I naturally assumed that the intended was for SB cos she is older than me by 4 years and my parents are too anxious to get her a BF.

Well, it so happens that the guy was being introduced to both of us.....he gets to pick who he likes! (Very unfair! Why don't I get to choose?) So, to cut the story short, that was how I got to know my fiance, RH. Turns out RH works in Singapore even though he is Indonesian, what are the odds of that happening. *feigned shock expression*

So, of course we continued our courtship in Singapore and finally got engaged in June this year.
