Alphalicious!!!!!

Created a scrapbook for Alpha after looking at other people scrapping about their pets.....Ain't he just adorable?

It is going to be the last day of Chinese New Year this Sunday and there will be tons of cooking again. I am still reading my Bible in case anyone thinks otherwise. Still determined to finish reading the Bible this year. I hope that I have enough stamina till the end of the year.

I gotta start baking again too. Maybe I will bake this weekend, making closed Pineapple Tarts for RH to bring to Sydney.

Drama Queens.......

Me and RH are just so addicted to US dramas namely 4400 and the new series Heroes from NBC. We just got hold of 4400 season 2 & 3 plus Heroes season 1 and I still have Dead Zone sesaon 2-5..................Arghhhhhhh

It is so rare that both of us like the same thing so it is so funny now that whenever we turn on the tv, its either 4400 or Heroes. In fact, RH is more addicted to it then me cos he actually stayed till 3 am to watch 4400. It is funny to watch.

Anyways, I think God heard my prayer and decided that RH gets to stay in Singapore for another week cos the Australian Embassy does not allow him to apply for another short term visa and wants him to apply for a long term visa which takes 4-6 weeks to approve. But he still has 6 days from his STV so he is flying off next week for one more week and coming back to apply for his LTV.

Still trying to put together the CNY pictures so please be patient.

Culinary Paradize......Holland Village

Yup, for most people, Holland Village is a place for Ang Moh and restaurants. Well, I have just discovered that Holland Village (Chip Bee Gardens side) also is a Culinary Paradise.

Yes, they have shops lined in between restaurants selling a galore of Western ingredients and cookware. They are all located along Jalan Merah Saga :

Block 43
#01-80 - Pantry Magic: Selling western cookware, bakeware and recipe books
#01-74 - Da Paolo Gastronomia: Lots of take away desserts, pasta, sauces, side dishes
#03-64 - Shermay's Cooking School: holds cooking classes and also sells bakeware and cookware
#01-64 - Bentfork Cooking School: holds cooking classes There was another place that sold all kinds of spices but I forgot to take down the unit number.

Block 44
#01-50 - The Butcher: Sells a whole variety of sausages, fresh meat and marinated meats
#-1-52 - Phoon Huat: Sells local and overseas baking ingredients and bakeware

So, next time if you are planning a huge meal, why not pop by Chip Bee Gardens and do your one stop shopping. :-)

Year of the Pig...

A golden pig at that.... yeah, I want a Golden Pig baby........

Hahaha! Not gonna happen if things remain as they are. RH is not here more than half the time. But but, HE IS COMING HOME TONIGHT! Hurray!

Few women are so happy to see their husband in the evening but I suppose if your husband lives like 8 hrs plane flight away, you would be like me.

Here is wishing everyone:

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!

Eat more, collect more ang bao and make more money. Hee hee.

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve and we are gonna be busy cooking. Hope I don't forget my camera this time. Gonna scrap some CNY stuff.

Ring Around the Roses

Look what greeted me when I got home last night!!!!!

A dozen pink roses. Thanks Honey for the flowers! I was pleasantly surprised cos I tot that RH would definitely forget. Not bad for my unromantic husband even though the florist did mess up, attaching a card with the words "Thank you for being my good friend". HELLO???? It is V day for goodness sake and the flower is from a loving husband to his "uhum" pretty wife. :P

Kinda touched by what RH did. You know how some guys just stop "wooing" their wives after they are married and just totally dispense with any gifts or flowers even during special occassions? Well, thank goodness RH is not one of those guys. It just makes a wife still feel special even though they are married and "not available" anymore. So, I implore ALL husbands to do soemthing special for their wife, even just a little thing like a hand picked, hand written card to show how much you love them.

Hurray, RH is coming back tomorrow. Gonna do my mani and pedi today and totally ready for tomorrow. :-)

Guess what turned up in my room? Remnants from my Singapore Wedding. Everything was totally customized by me and that was the best I could do in such a short time.

There was also a matching Ang Bao Box and two feathered pens.

Addiction!!!

I am addicted to a new hobby......scrapbooking.....all I can think of (besides work, husband, family) is scrapbooking. HOW?

Oops, that reminds me I have not read the Bible chapters for today. Yes, I have decided to embark on a ONE YEAR Bible Reading Plan amongst the hundreds of different types. I am determined to finish reading the Bible this year, a feat that has eluded me for a couple of years.

I started on Monday and since it is already February, the reading plan has obviously moved on to Numbers but that is ok since I have read Genesis and Exodux countless times. I just can't seem to read past them. So anyways, gonna post the readings everyday. Read with me should you choose to. :-)

Tarts and Such

Baked Pineapple Tarts last weekend. Had to finish the rest of the Pineapple Tart Jam. I tried out the new mini mini cookie cutters and the result were quite good. The new Pineapple Tarts had heart shaped patterens on them. The star shaped cookie cutter I bought from Phoon Huat did not have good results. Urgh, it was more expensive too, $10 per cutter.

Anyways:

Caught up on my Scrapbooking last weekend, created a new LO and also made a gift tag for JT's new baby girl. We were invited to a buffet to celebrate her girl's 1st month. She is really a darling. So cute and so "guai". Hee hee, makes me want one too.
{1st month Gift Tag}

Here is the tag that I made. Design by SY, of course and I bet she would wanna put All Rights Reserved on it so there you go.
{Sisters}
The pictures in this layout was taken with a "Da Tou Pian" machine in Bugis when we were all single. It was really a rare occasion that all 5 of us can be together at the same place so it was really precious.

**********
I bought a new bag.....a clutch really after persuasion from SY. Should not have listened to her cos I do not think that I will be using the clutch that often. It is just tooo small for me. I need BIG bags. Hehehe!

Long time no see.....

Been extremely busy lately between work and getting all my recipe converted to the right format. I am such a recipe collector that I have hundreds of recipes, some variations of the same dish but my next project is definitely compiling mom's home recipes. You can never find these online or in a recipe book so it is definitely ultra precious.

Baked tart crust with cream cheese filling over last weekend. Why is it called what it is called? Cos we baked with the intention of making a useful tart crust for our baby biz and just added the cream cheese filling to go with the crust. Hahahaha! Well, gonna experiment some more this weekend and hopefully bake the rest of my pineapple tarts.

Mom and Dad came back last week from attending JP's 1st year birthday. As you can recall, JP is their first grandchild, SB's first born. Anyways, here are some pictures taken in Surabaya......

Croc-a-dile......hehehe! Poor JP, having to wear costume in such a hot climate. He's cute though!

Monk or Monkey? Mom says that JP is getting very active and naughty, running all over teh house.

Giraffe? What will they come up with next?

Baby JP and his parents......if SB looks a little bloated, its because she is 7 mths pregnant.

Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake....

P Daddy rapper? Baby JP with grandparents....

By the way, I am scrapping all plans to cook on CNY. It is because the whole family decided to celebrate CNY in Singapore and that means mom is cooking. Yeah, the flood situation in Jakarta is not a condusive environment for celebration and so everyone is spending CNY in Singapore. Hurray Hurray!

Thank God that I don't get to spend CNY alone. Hahaha but I am not gloating about the flood too. I know many people have been displaced from their homes and are praying for them everyday.
