Been Busy

Busy busy busy! Yes, I know! Its a lousy excuse but I have been really swamped. Trying to balance between work, baby and ministry time. Thank God for HIs faithhfulness that I am not too stressed out beyond my abilities. I will continue to be busy until next weekend when we finish our very first catering job.

No doubt it is just my cousin's brother in law that is engaging us to supply desserts for his wedding in church but it is our very FIRST job so we are both excited and worried that things will not go as planned. *Keeping my fingers crossed*

In relation to the new biz, this year, I attend for the first time the Food and Hotel Asia. My, my, there are soooo many things to be seen. It is incredible. We found so many contacts and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves as exhibitors came forward competing to feed us nibblets of desserts and food.

Meantime, C has grown to a huge 7.7 kg and 67 cm. Hahaha! Here are some of his recent pics.

{C at church}

It is really hard to get C to smile for the camera. Only time when he will smile or laugh is when you look at him and make eye contact. Obviously when I am behind the camera, I am unable to do so. In this picture, I enlisted the help of my maid while I held the camera. Nice shot, I think. Too bad RH is not a good photo taker hence the lack of nice pictures of me and C.

{Sitting up}

See what C can do now? Yes, he can finally sit up unsupported. Although, he is not able to go from a sitting position from a sleeping one. YES! I need to put him in this position. Hahaha!

{See what else I can do. Drink milk from a bottle on my own}

Hehehe, not quite! I propped him up on a bolster while I kept my hand on the bottom of the milk bottle. It is just so funny cos nowadays when he drinks from the bottle, C loves to put both hands on the sides of the bottle like he is holding it on his own.

{Finger Lickin Good}

Not quite KFC. This is C trying to find his fingers to suck while he is hald asleep!

Dessert Pictures

Was tinkering with the new D80 Nikon camera over the weekend and managed to get these shots of desserts for our portfolio.

{Cheesecake Brownie, order in loaves}

{Rum and Raisin Creme Brulee}

{Triple Chocolate Mousse with Biscotti}

How did the following picture come about? Well, SY and me were going to take pictures of desserts for our portfolio when

SY: We need some decorations or accessories to go with the dessert.

Me: Ok, what?

SY: I don't know, go and find something!

At this point, I looked around the kitchen and the only things I found in abundance were onions and garlics. Hahahaha!

My Going Out Getup

{Navy Blue Hat}

RH and I went to Singtel @ Comcentre on Saturday to return a phone. We brought C out as we were planning to go church straight after. It was a sunny and windy day and so here is C, with a hat to cover his bald head. Hahaha. He looks so absolutely adorable in a fisherman's hat from his Aunt Yen.

Sleepless Nights

My 2 boys (aka HB and C) are noisy sleepers. Yes, they make all sorts of noises when they are sleeping. I have not been able to sleep very well lately and naturally, these night time beepers (who sleeps with me) are not helping me to drift off to zzz land.

Thank goodness RH is not a chronic snorer or else I would probably have filed for divorce within the first week of our marriage. Its just that he loves to grind his teeth when he sleeps. Recently (in the past 6 mths), it has been getting louder and more frequent. Much so that I every morning when I wake up, I would expect to see his teeth all filed down to just 1 cm above his gum but of course that nevers happens. Besides the irritating grinding, RH is a tosser. Yes, he tosses to the right, then to the left, then he pushes away his blanket and pulls it back to cover him again and so on. Sometimes, he would push me all the way to the edge of my side of the bed. I don't mind his tossing as much as the force of his tossing. He tosses with so much strength that the whole bed vibrates and that is pretty much what keeps me awake at night. I would be drifting off to sleep and suddenly, "earthquake".

The little noisemaker, thankfully, has no teeth so he does not grind but he does have saliva and a tongue so he would make the loudest blowing, smacking and sucking noises. Sometimes, the sound is so loud that I am sure he is awake but when take a glance, the little "angel" is a mask of peaceful sleep. Then there are the dreams.....sometimes a loud gurgle, a laugh or crying when it is a nightmare. These 2 nights, I am also awoken to his gas movements.....hahaha, how can a person so small make so much noise? I really wonder.....
All in all, I guess I have three options:
1. to move to another bedroom
2. to buy ear plugs OR
3. to just get use to my two noisemakers :)

Little "Feats"

{C, sitting down}

{C, standing up. Supported, of course}

C is happiest when he is held in a sitting or standing position even though his legs are not strong enough to support himself and his neck is still not steady.

He will smile and laugh when we hold him up. When we think he is tired and tries to put him down, he will keep straightening his legs as if he still wants to stand some more. Does this signal that he is going to be an active baby? I hope not.....

C C C C z z z z

Babies are really unpredictable! This morning while C was in his bouncing chair, he actually slept all on his own. Usually, he would fuss around when he is sleepy and would only settle down to sleep if someone pats him or rocks him.
This morning was special. I was observing him while pumping away. I knew he was sleepy cos he kept yawning every 2 mins. One second, his eyes was wide open and th next moment, it was shut. He opened his eyes to peep for a few seconds and drifted off to dreamland while the maid (S) and I got ready to leave. Yes, I have been leaving C either at my parent's place or at my cousin's place while I am at work. Its more convenient to leave him at my parent's place of course since I would be having dinner there anyways but I think that he would get more stimulation at my cousin's place as she is a stay at home mom and has 2 young boys.
I had Mastitis AGAIN last night. it must have been the fenugreek. I was taking it to boost my milk supply as my milk supply went down after I had mastitis last week. I was feeling so horrid.

I think its high time to blog about the Alpha conference. Yes, there is an Alpha conference going on next week. Nicky Gumble and his colleagues are coming to town and I am looking forward to be blessed by this conference. A friend from church asked me whether I would like to help out at the conference as someone who would pray for others during altar calls and such. I would love to help but my concerns are:
1. I am not very strong in prayer and faith and to pray for others (and there might be ministers and church leaders in the group), I was scared.

2. I am still expressing breastmilk for C and I can only go 6 hours without pumping or else I am sure to get Mastitis. And if I volunteer for the job, I would kinda have to be on standby the whole day.

So, I prayed to God and this morning's daily bread was Matthew 5:13-16 about salt losing its saltiness and needs to be thrown away. I guess God wants me to go forward and if the Lord says so, who am I not to follow His call. I just hope that everything will go smoothly.

Oh ya, and for those who would like to join the conference, I think you are still able to register.

I finally bought my Nikon D80 DSLR. YES!!!! I am so gonna practise on it. Thinking of taking a a class though because there are absolutely so many controls as compared to a normal camera. I think I got it for a good deal and my sis SY is gonna share the cost.

Just in time for the new biz as well. I am a happy camper.
