Cooking!

It was Girl's Night Out on Friday! Yeah, me and the girls have not met up and catch up for the longest time. I must be getting old as I actually felt sleepy at 9 pm.....can you imagine? It was still so early. Anyways, decided to bring the girls to Curry Favor at Stamford House, since nobody wanted to suggest a place and I thought that Curry Favor had a good ambience.

Anyways, we proceeded to Chjimes after dinner to get a post dinner drink at some spanish bar. They had a live band which started at about 10 pm and the female lead singer can really sing.

Some pictures of us that night! Love digital cameras to bits cos you can carry it everywhere you go and take as many pictures as you like.

{Jenny & Adeline. Jenny permed her hair for Chinese New Year!}

{Huiling & Jenny! Looking good girls!}

{Adeline & Me!}

I had an average hair day that day and I even put on make up. Hee Hee! Had to practise after paying so much for the class.

We decided to do some cooking over the weekend since my parents are not around. Anyways, I decide to cook Lasagna (cos i had a craving for some) on Saturday with Toscana Soup and Italian Salad. So, we had a totally Italian meal. Of course, I cheated and used ready made sauce as I thought it was totally not worth the time and effort to make it from scratch. So, here it is!

Building the lasagna!

{Complete with Cheese Toppings}

{Golden brown and out of the oven}

Must admit that it tasted pretty good and it tasted much much better than the last one I made. Reason being, that I made sure the lasagna was cooked thoroughly before putting it in the oven.

Anyways, SY made Peppercorn Steak with grilled vegetables, 3 Cheese Rissotto and Creme Brulee (Yummy, love Creme Brulee). Actually, I made the rissotto.....she just measured the ingredients. So, here it is.

{Look at the generous side dishes.....hehehe!}

{Proof of the medium cooked tender filllet mignon. Yummy!}

SY says that Creme Brulee requires an acquired taste and that is probably true. I never thought much about Creme Brulee until my ex-boyfriend introduced me to it. It is his favorite dessert and he was actually the one who sparked me to learn how to make Creme Brulee......its french and not italian, by the way.

It was dearest RH's 32nd birthday last Tuesday! Really really run out of ideas of what to do for his birthday so decided on a romantic dinner at Vis-a-vis, this French restaurant in Chun Tin Road but Mr. Scrooge complains that it is too expensive so we settled for Margarita's Restaurant at East Coast Road. We have wanted to try that restaurant for so long anyways.

It was a good experience. The restaurant was quite quiet for a Monday night and the food was good albeit on the expensive side.

I bought RH's cake from The Pattisier at Mohammad Sultan Road. They have a branch at Ann Siang Road and theyhave just the LOVELIEST cakes in Singapore. If only, I am able to own a cake shop like that in future. URGH! I love all things pretty and beautiful.

Anyways, they ran out of cakes that day and luckily for me, the chef who was suppose to be off duty happened to be still in the shop and he had a single undecorated choco cheesecake. The nice chef offered to decorate that cake for me. THANKS MUCH!!!!!! Muah Muah! I would hate to celebrate RH's birthday without a cake. Anyways, that is a lesson learnt. Please do order your cake beforehand.

{RH & his Birthday Cake!}

{RH & pretty GF!}

Our appetiser! Its a giant green chilli, sliced and stuffed with cheese, deep fried and topped with a tomato broth. Really good, btw.

{3 Big Candles & 2 Small ones!}

Speaking of RH, I was half annoyed and half disappointed at him the other day. He actually signed up for a Mandarin Class that happens to fall on the same day as our Alpha Class which we are helping out as Facilitators. Alpha Class is this basic Christianity Class in church.

I was annoyed because the whole reason I was in this Ministry was to accompany him and encourage him to minister in church. Also, he promised me that he was gonna grow in his Spiritual Life. Urgh, man and their short memory. And when I asked him about it, he actually said,

"Why didn't you remind me? "

As if it is my fault that he forgot! Anyways, I was feeling a bit bad for him cos I know how important the Mandarin class was to his business and I was the one who actually urged him to sign up for one but not one which falls on the same day as Alpha.

So, I told him to pray about it and our WONDERFUL and FAITHFUL Lord came through for him. He asked his instructor whether they were able to change the class to another day, instructor said only if the whole class agrees and guess what? The whole class agrees to change day. Amazing!

By the way, I bought him a Bible for his Birthday cos he always says he has one but I have never seen it before so decided to get him a nice, small and pretty Bible to carry around and if he does not use it, I will. Gonna get him a 2nd birthday gift, a massage voucher!
